Our Vision

Pearl Church is a community of believers, gathered together in the name of Christ, and committed to worship the Lord in spirit and truth. We desire for this church to provide a place for anyone and everyone to come and know, love, and follow Christ with their whole hearts.

We desire authenticity in our worship so that our faith-expressions may be real and genuine and spring from deep and true places inside of us. We value the rich tapestry of personalities and the diverse ecology of gifts among us, believing that we grow best together as we seek the Lord in community.

We desire to be formed by the tradition of those who have followed Christ throughout the centuries. Our corporate services of worship reflect practices of the historic church. We embrace the Christian calendar because its seasons and movements orient our days to the gospel. We observe these liturgical elements to strengthen our lives, for we hold that the story of God forms us.

We desire to participate in the movements of faith by worshipping in ways that are true to the complexity and messiness of our journey. We want to teach the Word of God in ways that bring light to our paths, be a sanctuary for heart-felt musical and artistic expression, find our sustenance through Eucharist, offer prayers that are both individual and corporate, and be a place where our awareness of God’s transcendence is accompanied by that of his immanence.

We desire to make a difference. We believe that the gospel of God mends broken relationships, heals wounded lives, touches places and people suffering from impoverishment and neglect, provides meaning and purpose, and gives us the kind of lives for which we were created. This church believes in the mission of God to reach and touch people in the name of Jesus.

In these ways, we desire to love and please the Lord, to glorify him, and to extend his kingdom here on earth.
