Pearl Christmas ‘07

Each year, Pearl collects warm blankets, sleeping bags, and new socks to deliver to Bridgetown Ministries, who distributes these necessities to Portland’s homeless community. During the late fall of 2007, we were brainstorming various ways to help raise additional funds and decided to give a Christmas CD a try. The project came together quickly and succeeded in helping raise additional funds for the sock and blanket drive. It also sparked interest in Pearl’s music, leading us to think toward perhaps producing a full-length record in the future. The project was produced by John Ross and mixed by Scott Olsen (Scott Olsen Productions). Many of Pearl’s musicians contributed to the album including Brian Cheney, Melody McBee, Thomas Hwang, Karen Howells, Bruce Schuman, Michal Wilson, Alex Aillon, and Katie Hewitt. A few friends of Pearl also contributed, namely Jon Swanson on piano and Claire Widmark on Vocals.
