Considered one of the best short story authors of the 20th century, Flannery O’Connor’s genre––southern Christian gothic––is dark, humorous, scathing, and illuminating. Her stories highlight religious and societal hypocrisy, and they encourage a reckoning with our own hypocrisy so that we might grow into more whole and compassionate human beings. The selection of short stories for this discussion includes: “The Train,” “Enoch and the Gorilla,” “The Life You Save May Be Your Own,” and “The Displaced Person.” Questions? Contact Pastor Mike.
