To be mindful is to be attuned to the present. To be self aware is to have conscious knowledge of one’s own character and feelings. As a mother of five children ages 11-21, I see these two states of being as key to nourishing meaningful, loving connections with children.
You’re invited to join me on Wednesday, January 6th for an hour-long group discussion for parents and caregivers. No matter what age your children are it is never too late to create new ways of relating and deepening the relationships you have with them. In this group discussion we will explore together questions like:
What do you love about your children?
What do you like about being a parent?
How do you think/feel about yourself as a parent?
What is one thing that, if you could, you would like to change in your relationship with your children?
I will also be leading the group in an exercise that is intended to create self awareness related to the kind of parent you want to be and to help identify what factors are keeping you from becoming that parent.
Come with a beginner's mind, ready to listen to the wisdom other parents have to share, and share your own unique wisdom as well.
