Good Friday is an ancient Christian tradition that remembers and reflects upon Jesus’ crucifixion.
This year’s Good Friday service will follow a Tenebrae Liturgy that descends from light to darkness, answers to questions, and hope to despair. Throughout the service there will be a diminishing of light as we extinguish three candles. The extinguishing of these candles symbolizes our experiences of darkness. Rather than turn as quickly as possible from our experiences of difficulty, this special service will invite us to remain present to suffering in order to feel its weight and to notice its textured impact on our souls.
Childcare will be provided for 1-11 year olds. Youth are invited to participate with the adults.
